Huichol Yarn Art
The Huichol tribes from northern Mexico are famous for their intricate bead and yarn work.
This Collection for Rojo Lobo is a vibrant series of hand crafted Yarn Pictures. The yarn thread is applied to a wood base, strand by strand forming exotic scenes of indigenous imagery.
All works have a hand-written inscription on the back explaining in Spanish the inspiration behind the figures represented. Most Yarn Art typically depicts images such as deer, peyote, the cactus flower, eagles and nature, all strong religious and cultural symbols for the Huichol people.
We work with a Huichol artist, Samuel Carillo, in Mexico city to bring to you these beautiful, one of a kind folk art pieces.
These yarn pictures are available in three different sizes, and can be framed on request.
